Thirteen/WNET New York is in need of a dedicated Project Manager for its prestigious annual Celebration of Teaching and Learning. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have an event production background and an interest in Education.

The candidate chosen will coordinate all aspects of the planning, implementation and production of the Celebration. In the months leading up to the event, the Project Manager will coordinate all internal station department efforts, including content development, sales and marketing, communications and promotion, publicity, sponsorship, registration, budgeting and website development. The candidate will also work with an external corporate partner and will supervise staffing and coordination between event partners. After the event, the Project Manager will be responsible for summarizing and evaluating success as well as for handling ongoing planning and production for subsequent years. This position will report to the Director, State and Local Education Services, and the candidate selected will supervise the Project Coordinator.

The candidate chosen must have a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience, or a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate the smooth flow of information between multiple department efforts as well as direct the efforts of various departments are a must. Event management experience is required and experience with event management software is preferred. Demonstrated leadership is important, as the Project Manager must be able to inspire colleagues to implement the overall vision of the Celebration through to the finest detail. A background in professional education will be considered a plus.
